Study Plan of the Bachelor's Degree Course in Applied Computer Science
The Study Plan of the Bachelor of Science in Applied Computer Science changed in Academic Year 2004/2005.
The objective of the Bachelor in Applied Computer Science is on one hand to educate professionally equipped experts who find immediate employment in the sector of information and communication technologies. On the other hand, its goal is to provide a good educational basis for attaining a specialist degree. The graduates should be capable of using the knowledge and skills acquired in order to carry out analyses, projects and the development and management of computer systems in various spheres of application. Furthermore they should be able to follow the rapid technological development while demonstrating the neccessary flexibility in order to keep up with even the most diverse of working realities.
The subjects that characterize the course incorporate the methodologies and technologies of computer science and their application in solving problems. The students’ educational development is complemented with the acquisition of a basic knowledge of mathematics and economics. Besides their technical-professional training, great emphasis is put on group work and transmitting the necessary skills for producing technical documentation and for communicating in German, Italian and English.
