Degree course in Primary Education The degree course in Primary Education trains teachers to teach in nursery and primary schools. There are two degree courses:

Training for nursery school teachers and for primary school teachers.

The course lasts for four years and is due to be prolonged up to 5 years. Relevant legislation regarding this aspect is due be made available by the legislator.The first two years of the course is the same for both sections and introduces students to education, while the second two years see a greater specialisation and students study specifically to become either a nursery school or a primary school teacher. In the 2008/2009 academic year there is also an “in service” course that takes place at the weekend and during the summer break. Some of the teaching is complemented by reading, project work and distance learning.
